Antony has developed his HR skills

After completing a degree in business Antony Platt, 25 from Sale, began working as a HR Administrator at AkzoNobel. Knowing a career in HR was for him, Antony enrolled on a professional course at Trafford College to develop his skills and help him progress.

AkzoNobel, which has a range of subsidiary companies including Dulux, wanted to support Antony in his development and he began the CIPD Certificate in Human Resource (HR) Practice in 2011.

Antony commented: “Trafford College has really developed my skills as a HR practitioner. The tutors were very approachable and made us feel welcome from the start. They made things simple for us to understand and they provide you with all the materials you need to get the results you want.”

On working full-time whilst studying, Antony comments: “It is hard to balance work with College, but the tutors made it a lot easier. If I wasn’t able to make a class they would make sure that I received all the relevant materials in order for me to stay on top of my studies.”

The CIPD Certificate in Human Resource Practice is just one of the many professional courses available at Trafford College, which cover a range of industry areas including accounting (AAT) , salon management, and teaching.

The course has now enabled Antony to further his knowledge at the University of Salford, which would not have been possible had it not been for the course at Trafford College. Antony comments: “The course has developed my skills set and given me the opportunity to go to study further at university.”
