At Trafford College there is a range of financial support available to ensure there are no barriers to your learning opportunities. Take a look below.

16 – 18 years old

If you are aged 16, 17 or 18 on 31 August 2013, you pay no tuition or exam fees for Government funded courses, unless fees are being paid by a training provider, in which case the training provider will be invoiced. Please note that students under the age of 19 may not be able to enrol on certain courses.

Student Bursary 

Trafford College’s Student Bursary is available to help eligible students with, travel to and from college, college lunches, essential course equipment, uniforms, and compulsory trips. The amount you can receive depends on your family’s household income. For more information, please Contact Us.

Care to Learn (up to the age of 20 when you start your course)

If you are a young parent you may be eligible for help with child care costs of up to £160 per-child per-week. For more information, please visit Care to Learn or Contact Us.

Students aged 19+

If you are aged over 19 on the 1 September 2013 there are different types of support available depending on your course and level of study.

Level 1 and Level 2 Courses

Discretionary Learner Support Fund (students aged 19+)

The College has limited funding to offer students experiencing financial hardship to help with course related costs, including tuition fees, childcare, travelling to and from College, and essential course related equipment, materials and field trips. Level 3 and Level 4 Courses

24+ Advanced Learning Loan (students aged 24 years plus)

Learners aged 24 plus and studying courses at Level 3 or Level 4 will from now have the option of accessing a loan to cover the cost of their tuition fees for courses starting in September 2013. For more information visit the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan page.

 

Access and Higher Education

Overseas Students

Tuition fees quoted in the course list are for home students – that is UK/EU/Swiss Nationals who have resided in the UK, EEA or Switzerland for at least 3 years. If you are an overseas student, please visit the Home Office website at  for more information.
