How to apply for 16-18 courses
You can apply online or by completing a paper form and sending it to us (pick up a paper form in school, here at college or download it here). Once you cave completed the form, return it to us at:
Once we receive your application we’ll check you’ve answered all the key questions and if we think we’re missing something, or need to check anything we’ll get in touch with you.
The next step is normally for us to invite you to one of our Information & Offer Events which are dedicated events for applicants where you can have an informal chat with one of our tutors. You’ll have the opportunity to discuss your course choice(s), your career ideas and get answers to any questions you still have. You should ideally bring your parent(s)/carer(s) along with you as they are likely to have questions too.
We aim to be able to find the right course for you during the event and most of our applicants leave with an offer of a place secured. Offers will be confirmed in writing by our Admissions Team shortly after and you will be able to confirm whether you would like to accept your place.
If you are interested in studying A levels, you may be eligible to receive an immediate conditional offer based on your application and predicted grades. Don’t worry if you apply for A Levels and don’t get an immediate conditional offer, that will just mean we want to meet you to ensure we offer the right course(s) for you.
How long does it take to receive an offer once I have submitted my application?
As soon as we receive your application our dedicated Admission Teams will invite you to our next Information and Offer event (link to info and offer event dates). We aim to give you at least 2 weeks’ notice so if we receive your application very close to the next event we’ll invite you to the following one.
If I have been made an offer what should I do next?
On the bottom of your offer letter there will be a return slip. Please complete this and post it back to us, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also call Trafford College Admissions directly on 0161 886 7092. Don’t worry if you can’t call during office hours as you can leave a message (but don’t forget to include your full name and date of birth!).
