Course Details
Would you like to meet new people and work in an exciting environment where no two days are ever the same? This course offers you the opportunity to specialise in front of house activities including customer service and the provision of food and drink to guests.
You will learn by working in Aspire Restaurant Bar and will develop the necessary skills and knowledge to gain an NVQ Level 2 in Food and Drink Service.

Course Entry Requirements
5 GCSEs at Grade D including Maths and English; or equivalent Level 1 qualification and GCSE Maths and English Grade D. The course is also open to adults, and those who have acquired the necessary skills through working in the industry.
Course Assessment
Assessment is continuous by observation of practical skills in Aspire Restaurant & Bar. Students will complete a portfolio of evidence based on their performance in the restaurant and bar.

Course Progression
On successful completion of this programme, students have the option of progressing onto the Professional Restaurateur NVQ 3 or into employment.
Course Additional Information
The Aspire Restaurant Bar is open to the public for lunch and dinner and offer a realistic working environment for students; A well-stocked learning resource centre and computer workshop are available for all students.
Students will be required to purchase a restaurant uniform and text books
