Course Details

The course is an intensive programme designed to prepare students for progression onto degree programmes at university or other HE institutions.

 

Students will follow a programme tailored to their area of study: Sociology,  Independent Research Project, English, Psychology, Study Skills, HE Preparation, ICT and Presentaion Skills.

Entry Requirements for Access to HE Teacher Training, Humanities, Social Sciences and Social Work

GCSE Maths and English at grade \'C\' or above would be most advantageous depending on your chosen degree pathway. You will be asked to submit an application form and handwritten personal statement.

You will be invited to undertake a 30 minute on-line numeracy and literacy online diagnostic assessment prior to the interview.


Assessment for Access to HE Teacher Training, Humanities, Social Sciences and Social Work

Students are assessed continuously throughout the year. Credits are gained for each module through assignments and a wide range of assessments: essays, presentations and project research. Level 3 units are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.

Satisfactory completion of the programme may allow progression to:
