The course is an intensive programme designed to prepare students for progression onto degree or diploma programmes in universities or other HE institutions, for example, Trafford College

The units studied are:

Specialist Subjects - Systems Analysis and Design, Databases, Computer Programming, Website Design, Computer Hardware and Networking, Database with Database Principles and Design, Object Orientated Programming.

Core Subjects - Study Skills, Developing Research Skills, Advanced use of ICT

Entry Requirements for Computing & Internet Technologies, Access to

GCSE Maths and English language at Grade C / Grade 4 or above are required. Functional Skills in Literacy and Numeracy at Level 2 may be accepted.

As part of your application you will be required to produce a handwritten personal statement. You will also be invited to undertake an assessment in Maths and English to assess suitability


Assessment for Computing & Internet Technologies, Access to

Students are assessed continuously throughout the year. Credits are gained for each module through assignments and a wide range of assessments including presentations, essays and research. Individual level 3 units are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.
