The BTEC First Diploma for ICT Practitioners will enable learners to gain a nationally recognised vocational qualification to either enter employment in ICT related occupations, or progress onto higher ICT qualifications. Learners will develop ICT skills and techniques as well as the personal qualities essential for working life.

The BTEC Introductory Diploma in IT at Work will enable learners to develop a range of employability skills, techniques and personal qualities essential for success in working life. Learners will develop their knowledge of IT through a combination of practical and theory skills gained in the course. This will provide a stepping stone into employment or onto higher level courses.
The course is modular and includes 3 compulsory units:
- Starting Work in the IT industry
- Working in the IT industry
- Developing Skills in IT.
5 additional units which include:
- Digital Devices
- Using the Internet
- IT Application
- Financial Managemen
- Personal Effectiveness
Plus Functional Skills in Maths and English
