Apprenticeships

Does the thought of earning money whilst getting qualified sound appealing to you? If so, then an apprenticeship could be the right choice for you! As an apprentice you will earn a wage whilst also gaining a nationally recognised qualification.
Some of our apprenticeship programmes take place fully in the workplace, for others you may need to attend College for 1 day a week. Apprenticeships are a level 2 qualification and require you to achieve 5 GCSEs at grades D or above including Maths and English. They can take up to 2 years to complete.
Once you have decided that an apprenticeship programme is for you, you will need to start looking for employment within the sector of your choice. Try contacting companies local to you or perhaps you know an employer that is keen to take on an apprentice.
You will not be able to apply for employment directly through the College, but we do have excellent links with employers and we will advise you if any positions become available within these companies.
We offer apprenticeships in the following areas:
- Accounting
- Business & Administration
- Customer Services
- Management
- IT
- Childcare (age 17+)
- Hairdressing & Beauty
- Hospitality
- Sport & Leisure
- Gas & Utilities
- Plumbing
- Motor Vehicle
- Electrical/Electronics
- Engineering
- Building Services
- Science
Please note that we can only accept applications from individuals who have gained or are seeking employment within the relevant sector.
After your apprenticeship programme, you can progress onto an advanced apprenticeship programme with us.
If you are interested in doing an apprenticeship in a sector that isn't listed above, please contact us on 0161 886 7070 to discuss.
