Children's Care, Learning & Development

This programme equips trainees with the skills required to progress within the early years/ childcare sector. Trainees work in the sector and attend College for skills sessions and underpinning knowledge one day each week.  Trainees must be aged 17-24.The programme is modular and the full Apprenticeship Framework consists of:

What You Can Expect From Us

Learners will receive help and support from the Trainer and Assessor. There are Technical Certifi cate Workshops to equip learners with all the underpinning knowledge, Key Skills Workshops, and sessions with the Assessor to plan and talk about the NVQ and observations.  We will also arrange the First Aid and work with learners on the ERR. We offer confi dential and impartial information, advice, guidance and support to help you achieve your goals.

Learners must attend every session at College, arrange observation dates with the Assessor and ensure appointments are kept. Learners should be punctual, reliable and enthusiastic.  Learners must be in paid employment.


Children's Care, Learning & Development

This programme equips trainees with the skills to progress within the Early Years sector.  Trainees will attend College for skills sessions and underpinning knowledge one day each week. Trainees must be aged between 17-24.  The length of the programmes depends on the age of the trainee.

The programme is modular and consists of:

The length of the programme depends on the age of the trainee. For those aged 16-18 the course usually takes 16 months. Those aged 19+ may take less time depending on their experience. Learners work in the industry and carry out all their course work in the work place.

Assessment is continuous in the workplace with candidates delivering practical sessions and producing written or product evidence to satisfy the performance criteria of the NVQ.  Candidates will produce a portfolio which will be internally and externally verified.

  • Operating Process Plant (Water) NVQ Level 2
  • Operating Process Plant (Waste Water) NVQ Level 2
  • Operating Process Plant (Sludge) NVQ Level 2

AND

  • Technical Certifi cate in Water Engineering
  • Level 2
  • Level 1 Key Skills in

         Communication

         Application of Number

  • Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)

Trainees will attend college on a block release basis to gain underpinning knowledge, develop a portfolio of on-site evidence and complete all the assessments required to satisfy the assessment strategy set out by EUS.
