Foundation Learning students put their best foot forward to raise money for charity by doing a sponsored walk.
The group of Further Study Entry 2 students were keen to make a difference in the community and raised more than £400 for Talbot House – the Manchester-based charity support service for parent and carers of people with learning disabilities.
One student said: “It was worth all the effort to raise more than £400, the final figure has made my day and will have such a positive impact on those people that the charity helps.”
Foundation Learning teacher Vicki Myers said: “The group raised £419.17 altogether which is a fantastic amount and will go towards helping struggling and isolated carers who look after family members with learning disabilities.”
The charity provides one-to-one support, training, lunches, days out and advice and is also open from 10am to 3pm Monday to Friday as a drop-in-centre.
