Trafford College joins Trafford is 40 celebrations
Trafford College is celebrating taking a step closer to its target of placing 40 new apprentices with employers in the region as part of Trafford Council’s ‘Trafford is 40’ year of celebrations. The College is excited to announce a new partnership with L’Oreal which has seen four new apprentices placed with the world renowned cosmetics and beauty company.
During Trafford’s 40th birthday year, Trafford College’s dedicated recruitment service, ‘Trafford First’ is working closely with companies in the borough to place 40 new apprentices with employers who have never taken on an Apprentice before, helping strengthen the local economy and providing new opportunities for young people.
One of the new apprentices looking forward to starting an exciting new career with L’Oreal is Sam Hickman from Manchester. He commented, “The service I received from the Trafford First team at the College was excellent. My coordinator, Samantha was very thorough and extremely helpful, contacting me throughout and talking me through every stage step by step. I would definitely recommend contacting the College; I was really struggling to find an apprenticeship on my own and it was definitely a big relief having somebody there to help me through this process. I’m really excited to start this new journey.”
Employers from across Greater Manchester have joined the College in supporting apprenticeship programmes, helping attract new talent, re-skill their existing staff and tackle skills shortages in their organisation, contributing to a large portion of the local workforce.
Sectors include Business, Accountancy & Customer Service, Childcare & Health & Social Care, Engineering, Gas, Plumbing & Electrical, Hair & Beauty, and Science & Pharmacy to name but a few.
There is also funding available of £1,500 to all eligible businesses, which aims to assist employers new to apprenticeships and those who have not been in a financial position within the last 12 months to commit to starting a new Apprentice.
