Students in their second year of their Building Services Extended Diploma have enjoyed an educational and cultural three-day visit to Berlin.
The trip included a guided tour encompassing some of the architectural features of prominent buildings such as the Reichtag Building, the Brandenburg Gate, the Berlin Wall and Check Point Charlie.
Comparisons were made between the external shading of the buildings of Berlin and other European cities, in terms of efficient and innovative designs. The group took responsibility for arranging their own visits to specific areas within the city to see features such as the Communications Tower and the Holocaust Memorial.
Student Daniel Gordon said: “It was interesting to see the architectural contrast between old and new and the experience has certainly helped me with my chosen career.”
