Trafford College’s hospitality students have celebrated success in the North West Commis of the Year Competition.
The competition, organised by the Association Culinaire Francaise, took place at Llandrillo College on 23 April, and saw some amazing dishes and fantastic front of house skills showcased as students battled it out against some of the North West’s rising culinary stars.
Alex Goddard was awarded a silver medal in the patisserie section for his classic gateaux and individually decorated eclairs. He said: “This is a really proud moment for me, I was shocked to have taken silver and I’m really pleased with my achievement.”
Amber Harper also wowed judges with her soup and salmon coullibac dishes and received a certificate of achievement. This made a huge difference to her confidence levels and extremely proud that she had competed. Amber said: “It was a great experience to be competing at a high level.”
