Some of the country’s top chefs will be taking over Aspire Restaurant to host a series of unique dining experiences with the help of The Trafford College Group’s talented students.
The chef takeover will see students receiving top tips from some of industry’s leading experts who are passionate about inspiring the next generation of chefs, and sharing their knowledge and skills.

For the duration of “takeover week”, students will work with some of the biggest names in fine dining. The aim is to provide students with an outstanding educational experience which develops industry standard skills and enables them to achieve their full potential.
During the week students will also have the opportunity to engage in demonstrations and masterclasses provided by suppliers, producers and hospitality experts, including, Sosa, Nestle, Beastro and Honest Crust.
Aspire will host five guest chef experiences between 14-18 January that showcase highly creative menus and award winning cooking, priced at just £22.50. A cosy afternoon tea will be available for £15 rounding off an exciting jam packed week.

Launching the busy week of events will be Si Toft and Ellis Barrie (Marram Grass). Together they will kick off takeover week with some of Ellis’s amazing dishes from this year’s Great British Menu.
Joining Si in the kitchen on Tuesday will be Matthew Hunter of Star Inn the City – York, cooking regional cuisine using only the finest seasonal produce.
Wednesday welcomes an alumni special with ex-students Johnny Stanford (The Half Moon Kidford) and Jamie Burgoyne (Harvey Nichols Edinburgh) going back to their roots. Johnny and Jamie’s journey since leaving Trafford College is inspirational. Together they’ll share their story while passing on their Michelin starred experience to students.

Hot on their heels and making a welcome return to the kitchens on Thursday will be Gary Usher and the Elite Bistro. Joining Gary will be good friend, Nathan Brockbank (Manchester City). These two chefs will be working together for the first time since their days at the Chester Grosvenor.
Completing takeover week in 5 star style with a beautiful afternoon tea, are returning chefs Gareth Stevenson (Palé Hall Hotel) & Si Toft. Gareth has played an integral part in the hotel’s most recent accolade of achieving Relais & Chateaux status.
