Student battles her way to victory

Trafford College MakeUp Student win award

A talented Make-up student from Trafford College got the new academic year off to a flying start after walking away victorious from this year’s Warpaint competition.

Level 3 Student, Alice Rouillon (18) from Lymm, fought off stiff competition to scoop the coveted award in the category of ‘Real Beauty’ at this year’s contest held at Professional Beauty North at Manchester Central.

The competitions cater for both professionals and students within the beauty industry giving anyone with a passion for make-up the chance to show off their skills.

As well as boosting her CV with her fantastic achievement, Alice is also now looking forward to her prize of a once in a lifetime opportunity to shadow one of the event judges at a high profile event.

She commented after her win, “I absolutely loved this experience! It has made me want to enter more competitions and I’m really excited to assist a top Make-up Artist and learn some tricks of the trade.”

Lauren Wright, Media Make-up Lecturer added, “Alice was our Student of the Year this year so we were very pleased to support her with her entry for the Warpaint competition. The category ‘Real Beauty’ is a great competition as it focuses on bringing out the natural features of real women; not super models.”

“Alice competed against industry professionals and her professionalism shone through along with her skills, making her an incredibly worthy winner. The competition was judged by top Make-up Artists making it all the more commendable.”
