Benefits
Professional Development
As a leading provider of further education Trafford College recognises a commitment to developing its staff as well as the students it serves. We actively encourage staff with individual professional development needs and, wherever possible and in line with business requirements, we will support individuals with any training requirements and in gaining qualifications.
Holidays
All staff at Trafford College receive a generous leave allowance.
Teaching staff are entitled to 55 days leave (including Bank Holidays and five shut down days over Christmas).
Business Support staff receive 28 days leave plus Bank Holidays and a further five shut down days over Christmas.
Staff Pension Schemes
All staff have the opportunity to join a fantastic final salary pension scheme. This means that the benefits you receive are based upon your final salary when you retire. You will also have the opportunity to receive ill health, death and family benefits. Members contribute a percentage of their gross monthly salary in addition to a contribution from the College.
The Greater Manchester Pension Fund is open to all Business Support staff
Teaching staff are eligible to join the Teachers Pensions Scheme
It is never too early to start thinking about your pension; both of these schemes offer generous benefits and piece of mind for the future.
Flexibility
The College endeavours to support flexible working hours, in line with business requirements. The College also has a range of job opportunities on a part-time or job share basis.
Staff Recognition
At the College we promote a number of staff recognition schemes which seek to acknowledge the effort and achievements of our staff. As well as the Long Service Awards and retirement parties, the College runs the annual STAR Awards. This award scheme recognises outstanding practice in both the teaching and business support sections.
Disability Support
The College is committed to Equal Opportunities. We have a wide range of facilities to support both staff and students with either physical or mental disabilities.
Assistive Technology
There is a wide range of assistive technology available to support staff and students who require assistance with mobility, hearing, sight and general support.
Environment
The College is a no smoking organisation and we are working towards a Clean Air Award.
We have an active approach to Health & Safety and recycling. A recent environmental audit by the Carbon Trust supports the College's aim to develop an energy efficient organisation.
