Here are some of the support services available to you throughout your time at College…
When you start your course, you will be teamed up with a personal tutor who you will see regularly to discuss your progess along with any issues or problems that you may have. If you have a problem that they can’t solve, they will refer you to someone who can help.
Careers & Guidance
We have a dedicated careers team who can help you choose the right course at College and then support you with applications to university, employment searches, a change of direction, or anything else to do with your future plans.
If you want to talk in confidence about any worries you have, then our approachable counsellor is available for you to speak to privately, to help you manage and overcome your problems.
If you have a physical disability, visual impairment, hearing impairment or mental ill health we will do our best to provide you with all the support, equipment, access and learning resources you might need throughout your time at College to enhance your learning experience. This support is confidential and is designed to meet your individual needs.
Additional Learning Support (ALS)
If you are concerned about how you will cope with your course or simply want to improve your study skills, then ALS can help with a range of techniques such as managing revision, developing literacy and numeracy skills, dyslexia support and improving spelling and grammar.
Other Support Services
Trafford Youth workers are available on site to offer guidance and support on a range of issues from relationships to drugs advice, or anything else you want to talk about.
The College’s Contraceptive & Sexual Health Service is available to all students for friendly and confidential advice on different forms of contraception and sexual health testing.
We also have FE Chaplains on site to listen to your hopes and concerns and to help you explore a range of different faith issues, questions and interests.
We think it’s important to keep your parents updated on your progress. We send regular feedback reports home, keep them informed on your attendance and punctuality, and will invite them into the College for Parents’ Evenings.
